i'm not sure how to word it.

obviously there are rats that are not 'human' rats as such. but are there rats that just never get even used to humans? i have a biter that i got about 4 months ago and to be honest, i keep my hand clear. i open their cage door and her and her sisters come out to play, i put her sisters back in (when i am moving around the floor keep my feet away from her!! ) and to get her back in i usually tempt her into a tube or an igloo and quickly put it into the cage. if i let her, she just bites me as hard as she can.

anybody got rats like this?
she is the first to still BITE like this, this much!

alergic to strawberries?

i've noticed that one of my new boys seems to get a swollen face every time he eats anything with strawberry in it is it possible that he's alergic to it? can't think of anything else. he drank some of a strawberry milkshake (that he tipped over! ), had some strawberry with a fruit mixture, and also had some ice cream to hide medicine. and every time, his face has swollen a bit. i am sure there's not been any same thing he got each of the times with the strawberry that could be the problem.

Could a vet remove two tumours under the same anesthetic?

Like, both in the same operation rather than two separate operations.

My girl Lizzi has 2 tumours. She's not that old and they are growing pretty slow and she hasn't developed anymore so we agree it is best if we get them removed. Our vet agrees but wasn't very clear on if it would be 2 in the same operation

Thankies!!! xx

Is a small lump with a tiny hole at the top likely to be a post-neuter abscess? My boy Jake is 16 months and has just been neutered so he's able to live with his sisters.
Just wondered what I should do, just keep it clean, take him back to the vets sooner than I would be?

When I say sooner than I would be, he is going back this Friday coming up for a 7 day post op check.

Thank you everyone

Wendy - feel bad for spaying her now

Am I wrong to feel bad about this?

Wendy was bleeding from her lady parts for a couple of weeks. Baytril, Septrin, Metacam, and Doxycyline failed to put a stop to this. The vet told me our only option was to spay her. As she is 8 / 9 months, it shouldn't be too hard to do.

However, since the operation she is off her food, even nice funny foods like baby food and porridge, I find it hard to give her the medicines she is to take, and this morning, I found blood on her bedding again I do not know for sure where it's coming from, but I can hazard a guess.

I feel a bit miffed at my vet, but he was only doing what he did in the best interest of Wendy. I feel like I let my girl down though.

Does anybody have any opinions, experience, advice?

Because I have no idea what high-markings are, just reading Scouts post and found it a little concerning. I know what megacolon is, of course - thank you in advance.

: (

Raven is one of the ayrshires - one of the babies btw. She's lost loads of fur and is continuing to. Been at the vets. She got spot on for 4 weeks in a row and I make sure the bedding is clean and whatever.

But she keeps losing fur. Not even certain parts balding, just all over her body. She isn't on any medicine, and is otherwise okay.

Thanks. x
